If you're worried about having a [**heating repair in Naperville, IL**](/hvac-residential-commercial/hvac-contractor), right now, you are at the correct spot. While some repairs are evident, others may be more subtle and need the assistance of a specialist. If you find yourself in any of the following scenarios, we strongly advise you to contact our staff as soon as possible to resolve the issue: - **Electrical Issues:**Suppose the lights flicker when you turn on your HVAC system, which is a potentially dangerous symptom that signals a problem with your home's electrical system. It's helpful to understand the fundamentals of your home's electrical system, but you shouldn't take any chances. Attempting to repair your HVAC system without the proper expertise might put you and your family in danger, especially if the issue is electrical. - **Loud and Unusual Noises:**Loud sounds from your HVAC system are never a good thing. A popping sound, for example, might indicate that the ductwork is expanding and contracting as it heats and cools. Grinding noises usually indicate a furnace problem, whereas rattling noises indicate loose panels that should be repaired. Having these concerns checked now might save you money in the long run. - **A Rotten Egg Smell:**When you discover a bad odor in your house, don't be afraid to ask for help. This might be an indication of a natural gas leak, and your family should leave right now. Make sure no lights are turned on or off and that the stove is not turned on. Gas leaks are highly dangerous and should be reported as soon as possible to a professional team. - **Spiking Utility Bills:**There are a variety of factors that might lead to an increase in your electricity costs. Extremely cold weather can make your furnace work much harder than normal, but a furnace that struggles to do its job even in moderate temperatures may have more serious issues. - **Water Leaks:**It isn’t a surprise that a puddle of water surrounding your furnace indicates a problem. Water is an important part of a gas furnace or air conditioner at work, which many homeowners are unaware of. The first thing you should do is figure out where the water is coming from. If you only notice the leak when your air conditioner is turned on, the water condensate line is likely clogged or leaking. If that's the case, you're in for a very straightforward remedy. If water is coming from the furnace itself or during the heating cycle, there's a problem that has to be addressed, and it's time to bring in a specialist. Furnace malfunctioning is something none of us would like to have in our homes. Proper care and regular cleaning should be given to the furnace, and if any of the above situations are caught at your furnace, contact an expert or [**HVAC contractor in Naperville**](/)immediately.
